    Welcome to the Manhasset Secondary School!
    We are a school of great pride and a tradition that seeks to have all of its students reach their full potential. With approximately 1700 students spanning grades 7-12, we offer a wide array of courses in both the middle and high school years.
    Our course offerings, extracurricular activities, athletics and a host of services and programs, are outlined throughout our website. Please peruse our website and get to know us. Additionally, pertinent, up-to-date information relating to upcoming events and programs is available for your convenience.

    EOC Box
    The EOC needs your help!  Please make donations of new school supplies for the children of our local EOC.  Such supplies include: markers, crayons, pencils, pens, construction paper, printed paper, rulers, erasers, glue, or any other school-related supplies.  The donation box is located in Dr. Schlanger's office.  Your donations are greatly appreciated!  Please remember the EOC the next time you go shopping!
     
    Capp Program
    The CAPP program is back.  Come and make new friends, have fun and earn community service.  There is a meeting every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon at 3:15 pm in Room 100.  All middle and high school students are welcome.

    • Bon Jour!  In support of the New Orleans East Tornado the French Honor Society is asking you to participate in a fundraiser.  Tomorrow, February 28th is Mardi Gras and we encourage everyone to stop by the donation table near the auditorium to donate.  We will be there all day!  Anyone who donates receives a Mardi Gras beaded necklace in celebration.  Tomorrow is the only day to donate.
    • Attention all HS students:  Tomorrow, February 28th is a Spring interest meeting for all HS students interested in rowing at 3:30pm in the Cafeteria.
    • The next meeting of The 1680 Club will be tomorrow, February 28th at 7:30am in Room 261.  All members, new & old, are always welcome.
    • There will ba a mandatory meeting for all girls in grades 9-12 who are joining the Spring Track & Field Team in Room 122 at 3:15pm on Wednesday, March 1st.
    • There will ba a mandatory meeting for all girls in Grades 8-11 who plan to tryout for the Varsity & JV Field Hockey Teams this Fall.  The meeting will be in Room 122 at 3:15pm on Thursday, March 2nd.
    • The 1st team meeting for the HS Girls Badminton team is  this Thursday, March 2nd at 3:15pm in the HS Gym.
    • Indian Ink, Manhasset's online school newspaper, is now live for the 2016-2017 school year.  For the latest in politics, movies, tech news, sports and more, be sure to check us out at indianinkonline.com.  Stories are added regularly, so be sure to check back often for updates!
    • Reminder for all High School Students:  Check out the community service bulletin board in the social studies basement for important updates and information and for upcoming volunteer opportunities.

In The Spotlight

  • This past Saturday, 42 students from Manhasset competed in the Western Long Island Region Science Olympiad competition held at Kellenberg Memorial High School. Students competed in 25 different events in subjects spanning across all disciplines of science and engineering. Our students won 12 medals, and out of the 34 teams that took part, our teams placed 10th, 16th, and 22nd overall!

     

    Individual medals were won by the following students:

    Dynamic Planet-4th place- Vanessa Zhang and Emily Cruz

    Ecology-3rd place- Rachel Chang and Yuna Kim

    Electric Vehicle-5th place- Richard Lee, Henry Son, and Michael Lee

    Fermi Questions-6th place- Fred Chu and Emily Cruz

    Fermi Questions-3rd place- William Peng and Stephen Lee

    Hovercraft-6th place- Emily Cruz and Raymond Huffman
