Mr. Patrick Santivasci

Hello. My name is Patrick Santivasci. The 2018-2019 school year will be my fifth full year as a classroom teacher, and my third as a Fourth grade teacher at Shelter Rock.  Working within the Manhasset school district for the past nine years has given me the opportunity to become part of this wonderful community.   During my first few years at Manhasset I was a sixth grade teacher assistant.  My fifth graders  benefited from this greatly because I was strongly familiar with the materials and expectations that they will face come the following year.  As for this years fourth graders, they too will be prepared for the following year as the school year progresses, I make certain that my students will be ready and confident when they enter fifth grade.  Having had the opportunity to live the fifth grade curriculum for the last two years, I have never been more ready to begin my fourth grade journey together with my 22 new students.   I am also a certified special education teacher who at times has been a leave replacement in a self contained setting.  It is because of this I feel as though I am able to connect with all of my students successfully.

Teaching is my passion.  As each and every child enters my classroom they will feel at home.  I create a classroom environment that is supportive and understanding.  I pride myself on developing children to recognize all the good that is within themselves as well as their classsmates.  Respect and honesty is key for me.  I strive to create the "Best" school year possible.  The struggles that a child faces during the school year is not a fear of mine.  The struggle is part of the process.  My students will understand that mistakes are suppose to be made.  With my support and the support of their classmates each student will try their best.  Trying your best means everything to me!

As the new school year gets underway I am eager to develop relationships with both parents and students.  Together we will make this school year a fun, exciting and successful experience for all.
