Sharon Galvin presented useful tools for parents to use to raise a digitally responsible child. She discussed how to avoid the pitfalls of social media such as addiction and bullying. She presented ways to foster more peer to peer engagement. CLICK HERE to see the video.
The NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) presentation can be found by clicking here. It was presented to parents in the Charlie Cardillo Community Room on January 15, 2019. It represents a detailed overview of the MAP assessment that all students, K-6, are administered. Results are used for in-class instructional purposes and to assist with targeting support services as needed.

Dr. Charles Leone and the administrative team presented an overview of the types of assessments students encounter in Kindergarten through Grade 6. The presentation addressed the purpose of assessment and how students’ results are used. Introduced as well, was an update on the district’s internal examination of the elementary accelerated math and enrichment programs, the student identification process for such programs, and the unintended consequences and challenges of such programs.
