CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEES
The Board of Education of the Manhasset Union Free School District is seeking interested Manhasset residents to serve on the following Citizens Advisory Committees.
CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE for FINANCE (CACF)
The CACF serves as a liaison between the community and the Board regarding the District’s annual operating budget. The committee endeavors to reflect community interest and inquiries about the District’s proposed annual budget and budget process, provide feedback, and enhance public understanding of specifics of the District’s annual proposed budget. Meetings are anticipated to be held in person at least monthly during the period January through May.
The committee includes up 12 community members representing a cross-section of residents with varying interests and experience with the District. CACF Bylaws can be found here: https://www.manhassetschools.org/Page/5436
CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE for TECHNOLOGY (CACT)
The CACT serves as a liaison between the community and the Board to provide communication on technology matters affecting the District, both infrastructure as well as instructional technology. Through effective communication, the committee endeavors to provide advice on matters, including the impact on educational or fiscal aspects. Meetings are anticipated to be held in person as needed during the school year.
The committee includes up 15 community members representing a cross-section of residents with varying interests and experience with the District. MANHASSET ATHLETICS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MAAC)
MAAC serves as a liaison between the community and the Board regarding the District’s Secondary
School interscholastic athletic program, primarily to advise the Athletic Director and the Board regarding policies and practices which affect or impact the interscholastic program, as well as the District’s athletic facilities. Members participate in standing sub-committees focused on: Budget; Indoor Facilities; Outdoor Facilities; Athletic Department Personnel; and Communications. Meetings are held monthly (Monday evening) during the school year.

APPLICATIONS
Citizens Advisory Committee members are appointed for a term of up to 3 years. Members who have served a term may apply to serve for an additional term.
