• Advocacy Opportunity: Increase Funding for Manhasset Schools!

Repeal the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA)

    In the 2015-2016 State Budget

Educators and parents across New York are united: Increase funding to public schools.

Repeal the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA)

Help our schools and our students!  Write our legislators and tell them to repeal the GEA in the 2015-16 State budget and fully fund public schools.  The Manhasset public schools have lost over $3.7 million in funding due to the GEA over the last 5 years.  These GEA cuts cost Manhasset taxpayers an average of  $750,000 annually.

Your voice needs to be heard now!   Use the sample letter and links below for Senator Jack Martins, Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel and Governor Andrew Cuomo.  We need to advocate every year until full funding to New York’s public schools is restored!!

Advocacy is easy!  Email our elected representatives ASAP and no later than March 20.  Click on the links below for our elected representatives to begin an email and then copy and paste the sample letter available to each.  Be sure to update the greeting and include your name and address.
