Manhasset Students Compete at International Science and Engineering Fair
On May 16, three Manhasset High School science scholars competed in the 75th International Science and Engineering Fair, which was held in Columbus, Ohio.
Senior Emily Zhoa and juniors Isabel Gonzalez and Lucienne Keyoung joined over 1,700 finalists, who represented over 60 countries, at this prestigious international event.
At the competition, Isabel and Lucienne won second place in the Chemistry category for their research project, “Ag-TiO2 @HNT Photocatalytic Composites for Highly Efficient and Eco-Friendly Organic Pollutant Degradation.”
In the Earth and Environmental Science category, Emily was honored as an ISEF finalist for her project, “Integrated Geospatial and Socioeconomic Analysis Forecasting Food Insecurity Under Climate Change.”
The district is proud to congratulate each of the students, and science research teacher Alison Huenger, on this exceptional, well-deserved achievement.
