Manhasset Varsity Boys Cross Country Honored with Parade to Celebrate Historic State Championship title
Manhasset Public Schools congratulates the Manhasset varsity boys cross country team who celebrated their historic state champion title with a spirit-filled championship parade on Dec. 7.
Hundreds of community members lined the streets, waving flags and cheering as the athletes took their well-deserved victory lap through the center of town. The team was accompanied by coaches and school administrators, elected officials, police on motorcycles and horseback and fire trucks with sirens blaring.
Following the parade, the student athletes were presented with proclamations from Nassau County for their achievement and were treated to a celebratory helicopter flyover by the Nassau County Police Aviation Unit.
The district is grateful everyone who made this celebration of our students possible, including Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Nassau County Police, the Nassau County Fire Marshall and the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department.
