Middle School Student Awarded Scholarship for Spanish Immersion Camp

The district is proud to congratulate eighth grader Sophia Sharaf on being awarded the Kevin Cessna-Buscemi Global Citizen Scholarship from the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.

As the recipient of this scholarship, Sophia will attend a one week, fully immersive language and culture learning camp at the Language Village in Minnesota. This experience will offer Sophia the opportunity to further improve her Spanish skills and focus on her interest in medical anthropology.
