A Star-Spangled Celebration: 2nd Grade Explores U.S. Symbols
Shelter Rock second grade students took a deep dive into American history by researching and learning fascinating facts about various United States symbols. Their hard work culminated in a spectacular red, white and blue presentation on March 26 where students had the opportunity to share their findings.
This project was a wonderful example of cross-curricular learning that extended far beyond the traditional classroom. Students spent time in the art room carefully illustrating their chosen national symbols, while the music department helped them learn a variety of classic patriotic songs, adding a beautiful soundtrack to the event.
It was truly a star-spangled celebration of our students' dedication, creativity and newfound historical knowledge. We are incredibly proud of our young historians for their outstanding work!
