Manhasset Middle School Junior Science Olympiad Club Makes History
The Manhasset Junior Science Olympiad Club delivered a historic performance at the Western Long Island Regional Competition, earning 45 individual medals across our three competing teams and securing a 1st place overall regional win!
This victory marks a major milestone for our district: it is the first time since Manhasset began competing in the Science Olympiad that one of our division teams has secured 1st place at the regional level.
Competing against 40 other school teams, Manhasset showed remarkable depth as all three of our participating teams finished in the top 10 overall (1st, 4th and 9th). This dominant performance earned our school district a spot at the New York State tournament, which will take place April 24-25.
This success followed months of intense work across diverse STEM fields. Our students mastered everything from high-level exams in anatomy and physiology and solar system to hands-on engineering projects like constructing a structural boomilever and flight-ready helicopters.
The district is incredibly proud of these talented students for representing the Manhasset community. Please join us in congratulating the club on their 45 medals and wishing Manhasset the best of luck as they head to States.
