Board of Education Recognizes Students and Educators for Outstanding Achievements

At the April 10 meeting, the Manhasset Board of Education was proud to honor fourteen students and two teachers who have recently been recognized with prestigious distinctions.

Shelter Rock teachers Allyson Weiss Begley and Ashley Arcuri-Iaquinto were recognized by the Board for earning accreditation as National Board Certified Teachers from New York State United Teachers. To achieve this professional certification, Ms. Begley, a third grade teacher, and Ms. Arcuri-Iaquinto, an ENL teacher, demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and practice in their individual certificate area by completing four components: three portfolio entries and a computer-based assessment.

The Board also recognized students from Manhasset Secondary School who have recently been named among the top student musicians in the state and selected to perform at regional and national festivals.
