ManHACKset Teams Bring Style and Substance to Hackathon Competition

Congratulations to our Manhasset Hackathon teams, Shelter Rock Storm and Munsey Park Tigers, on their hard-fought and well-earned success at the KidOYO Code Conquest “Battle of Bunker Hill” Hackathon on April 4.

Using tactical ingenuity, focus and exceptional coding skills, the Shelter Rock Storm were champions of the day, conquering eighteen other Long Island teams to take the top spot! The Storm also won first place for their banner and for their Capital Defense Project - an incredible accomplishment!

The Munsey Park Tigers put up an amazing fight throughout the competition, showcasing their resilience, creativity and teamwork. Their outstanding performance earned them an impressive top five finish overall.

The Battle of Bunker Hill Hackathon was an intense and thrilling competition, challenging students to develop innovative coding projects inspired by the Revolutionary War. Teams had to plan, design and code solutions that reflected the courage, resilience and strategy demonstrated during the historic battle. Each of the nineteen teams brought their own creativity and technical expertise to the challenge, making this event an exciting and inspiring experience for all involved.

We are so proud of our Munsey Park and Shelter Rock teams, as well as their coaches Ms. Merolesi and Ms. Costello, for this achievement and for representing Manhasset with exceptional dedication, sportsmanship, creativity and coding aptitude. These are the traits and skills that win Hackathons now and will serve our students well in the future.
