All-National Musician Plays Principal Viola

Congratulations to Manhasset High School student Alexandra Hong, who was selected to perform with the All-National Honors Orchestra in Disney World in November. Adding to this prestigious honor, she was chosen to serve as principal viola of the All-National Orchestra following a competitive audition.

“Appointment to a principal chair is a distinct leadership honor,” said Administrator for the Arts Anthony Ambrogio. “In Manhasset, Alexandra has thrived musically, distinguishing herself at the local, state and now national level. We are all so proud of her. I would also like to recognize her orchestra teacher, Mrs. Caroline Shyr, and all of our excellent music faculty who have played a role in her development.”

Alexandra has also been selected to perform at the All-Eastern Music Festival, to be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in April.
