A Message of Heroism and Hope

The Manhasset High School Social Studies Honor Society recently welcomed former New York and New Jersey Port Authority police detective William Jimeno, who spoke about his harrowing experience at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

During an evening presentation to the community, Jimeno shared with students and adults alike his message of “faith, hope and love” inspired by his ordeal of being trapped under the World Trade Center rubble for 13 hours. Jimeno’s account of that day left students riveted, and several stayed after the presentation ended to ask him questions regarding his life-altering experience.
