VMWare - Remote Access

Students in grades K - 12 are able to access the Manhasset Computer Network through a new technology - VMWare View.

VWMare allow you to access the sofware used in Manhasset Schools as well as to access your school network home directory - where you store your files. Click here to access the VMWare landing page.   Click the icon on the right of the landing page to download VMWaer on your home computer.  Click the icon on the left of the landing page to sign in to your network account through your web browser.

Using View means you won't have to worry about transporting files to and from your home computer. Simply install a small piece of software or client on your home computer and access the Manhasset Network via View as if you were sitting in a computer lab.

Using VMWare view also means you'll have access to all of the software programs you can use in school as well as signing into library databases as if from within school - where our IP address range is used to certify our subscription

Note - your login credentials (username and password) are the same as those you use when in school.

Note: If you have a Mac at home, you'll be able to turn that into a virtual pc while logged into VMWare and use the same MS Office software as we have in school - all without having to purchase it!

Please remember that the District's Acceptable Use Policy applies to the use of this new technology just as it does those computers in the computer labs.
